What is EAC Certification?
EAC Certification, or Eurasian Economic Union Certification, is a product conformity assessment procedure implemented among member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). It certifies that products comply with the unified technical regulations established by the Eurasian Economic Union, with the unified mark being EAC. It applies to member states such as Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, and Kyrgyzstan. Since 15 February 2013, products listed on the Customs Union's product list must obtain EAC certification, replacing the previous separate certifications of each country, such as Russia's GOST-R certification, Belarus' GOST-B certification, and Kazakhstan's GOST-K certification.

Unified Certification Standards
Before the introduction of EAC certification, each member state of the Eurasian Economic Union had its own independent certification system. Without a unified certification system, differing certification requirements among countries could act as barriers to companies entering other member countries' markets. Some companies may be excluded from certain markets due to unfamiliarity with other countries' certification rules or inability to meet certain countries' stricter certification standards. The implementation of EAC certification eliminates such trade barriers caused by certification differences, enabling products to circulate more freely among member states. Once a product obtains EAC certification, it can smoothly pass customs inspections and enter the markets of the Eurasian Economic Union, thereby promoting trade between member states. For example, for certain electronic products, without a unified certification standard, different countries may have varying requirements regarding electromagnetic compatibility, safety performance, and other aspects, making it difficult for companies to sell their products in multiple countries simultaneously. The EAC certification unifies these requirements, allowing electronic products that have passed EAC certification to be sold in multiple member state markets.

On one hand, the unified certification process reduces the human, material, and financial resources required by companies during the certification process. Companies no longer need to hire professional certification consultants, prepare multiple sets of certification documents, or conduct multiple product tests for different countries, thereby reducing certification costs. On the other hand, products can enter the market more smoothly, reducing situations such as product backlogs and returns caused by trade barriers, thereby lowering corporate market risks and operational costs. For example, when undergoing certification, businesses no longer need to pay high certification and testing fees for different countries separately; they only need to pay once for EAC certification.
