Customs Union certificate (TR CU certificate or EAC certificate)

Customs Union certificate (TR CU certificate or EAC certificate) is a document for products that confirms their compliance with the quality and safety requirements established by technical regulations (TR CU) mandatory for use in the territory of the Customs Union.

TR CU certificate is valid in the whole territory of the Customs Union regardless of the country where it was issued.

Certification of conformity of products under technical regulations is exclusively mandatory. That is, it is impossible to issue a voluntary TR CU certificate.

Only a legal entity or an individual entrepreneur - resident of the EAEU - may apply for certification of products for compliance with the requirements of the TR CU. If the manufacturer of products is a foreign entity, it must authorise another legal entity (IE) to perform its functions in terms of ensuring compliance of the supplied products with the requirements of technical regulations of the Customs Union and in terms of responsibility for non-compliance of the supplied products with the requirements of technical regulations of the Customs Union. This is done through the conclusion of a special contract of the representative of the manufacturer's interests during certification.

The validity period of the TR CU certificate is 5 years. For a batch of products the validity period of the certificate is not limited.

TR CU certificate is issued by accredited certification bodies on the basis of documents established by the requirements of technical regulations, as a rule, these are:

product passport

operating manual

safety substantiation

drawings and schemes

factory test reports

certificates and safety data sheets for components

protocols of certification tests.

TR CU certificates are drawn up on a form of strict accountability and entered in the Register of Certificates of Conformity.
