What is EAC Certification?
EAC Certification, or Eurasian Economic Union Certification, is a product conformity assessment procedure implemented among member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). It certifies that products comply with the unified technical regulations established by the Eurasian Economic Union, with the unified mark being EAC. This certification applies to member states such as Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, and Kyrgyzstan. Since 15 February 2013, products listed in the Customs Union's product list must obtain EAC certification, replacing the previous national certifications such as Russia's GOST-R certification, Belarus' GOST-B certification, and Kazakhstan's GOST-K certification, thereby facilitating the free circulation of products among member states.

What are the relevant regulations for EAC certification?
Technical Regulations  
The Customs Union has established a series of unified mandatory technical regulations to standardise product quality, covering numerous product categories. Products subject to these technical regulations must first obtain EAC certification before being imported and sold. For example, the ‘Technical Regulation on Toy Safety’ ensures that toy products comply with safety standards during design and production, safeguarding children's safety; the ‘Technical Regulation on Packaging Safety’ stipulates requirements for packaging materials and labels to prevent harm to consumers or the environment caused by packaging issues.

Technical Regulation on Safety of Low-Voltage Equipment  
This regulation applies to low-voltage equipment with rated voltages between 50V and 1000V AC or 75V and 1500V DC, such as common household appliances and industrial electrical equipment. The regulation sets requirements for electrical safety, mechanical safety, and fire protection to prevent accidents like electric shocks or fires. By following this regulation for EAC certification, low-voltage equipment can be safely used in the Eurasian Economic Union market.

Electromagnetic Compatibility Technical Regulations
This regulation targets electronic and electrical products, aiming to ensure that products do not cause electromagnetic interference to other devices during normal operation while also being able to withstand a certain degree of external electromagnetic interference. Electronic products such as mobile phones, computers, and televisions must comply with this regulation. Electromagnetic compatibility testing during the EAC certification process ensures that products operate stably in complex electromagnetic environments.

Mechanical Equipment Safety Technical Regulation
This regulation covers various types of mechanical equipment, including large-scale industrial machinery and agricultural machinery. It establishes standards for the design, manufacturing, installation, use, and maintenance of mechanical equipment to reduce the risk of injury to operators during operation. For example, it specifies requirements for protective devices and safety interlock mechanisms to ensure the safety of mechanical equipment in the Eurasian Economic Union market.
