Gas Collection Equipment (Gas Hoods, Pipelines) CUTR Certification (EAC Certification)
Gas Collection Equipment (Gas Hoods, Pipelines) CUTR Certification (EAC Certification) Gas Collection Equipment (Gas Hoods, Pipelines) exported to Russia and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) must obtain EAC certification (formerly CUTR certification). The core requirements are as follows: 1. Applicable Regulations Compliance with TR CU 032/2013 ‘Technical Regulations on the Safety of Pressure Equipment’ (applicable to gas transmission pipelines) and TR CU 010/2011 ‘Safety of Machinery and Equipment’ (applicable to the mechanical structure of gas hoods) is required. This is a mandatory certification. 2. Certification Type EAC Certificate of Conformity (CoC): Applicable to high-risk equipment (e.g., collection systems containing pressure vessels), requiring testing by an EAEU-accredited laboratory (pressure, sealing, corrosion resistance) and factory audits (production processes, quality control). The certificate is valid for 1–5 years. EAC Declaration of Conformity (DoC): Applicable to low-risk equipment (e.g., ordinary gas transmission pipelines), self-declared by the manufacturer, requiring technical documentation (design drawings, material certificates) and test reports (e.g., non-destructive testing), without factory audits, with a certificate validity period of 1–5 years
Gas Collection Equipment (Gas Hoods, Pipelines) CUTR Certification (EAC Certification)
Gas Collection Equipment (Gas Hoods, Pipelines) exported to Russia and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) must obtain EAC certification (formerly CUTR certification). The core requirements are as follows:
1. Applicable Regulations
Compliance with TR CU 032/2013 ‘Technical Regulations on the Safety of Pressure Equipment’ (applicable to gas transmission pipelines) and TR CU 010/2011 ‘Safety of Machinery and Equipment’ (applicable to the mechanical structure of gas hoods) is required. This is a mandatory certification.
2. Certification Type
EAC Certificate of Conformity (CoC): Applicable to high-risk equipment (e.g., collection systems containing pressure vessels), requiring testing by an EAEU-accredited laboratory (pressure, sealing, corrosion resistance) and factory audits (production processes, quality control). The certificate is valid for 1–5 years.
EAC Declaration of Conformity (DoC): Applicable to low-risk equipment (e.g., ordinary gas transmission pipelines), self-declared by the manufacturer, requiring technical documentation (design drawings, material certificates) and test reports (e.g., non-destructive testing), without factory audits, with a certificate validity period of 1–5 years.
3. Key technical requirements
Materials and structure:
Pipes must be made of carbon steel or stainless steel (e.g., ASTM A36, A106), with thicknesses meeting pressure rating requirements, and welding must comply with GOST standards.
Gas hoods must be made of corrosion-resistant materials (e.g., fiberglass, stainless steel), designed to prevent gas leakage, with smooth edges free of burrs.
Safety Devices:
High-pressure pipelines must be equipped with pressure relief valves, safety valves, and lightning protection grounding devices.
Flammable and explosive gas collection systems must be fitted with flammable gas detection alarms.
Performance Testing:
Pressure testing (e.g., hydrostatic testing, pressure ≥ 1.5 times design pressure) and leakage testing (e.g., airtightness testing) must be passed.
Gas hoods must meet mechanical strength requirements (e.g., wind load resistance, seismic design).
4. Certification Process
Determine product category: Confirm the applicable certification scheme (CoC/DoC) based on the customs code (HS Code).
Prepare documents:
Technical documents: Design drawings, strength calculation reports, welding procedure qualification, material certificates (e.g., chemical composition reports).
Test reports: Pressure test and leakage test reports issued by an EAEU-accredited laboratory (required for CoC).
Submit application: Submit the application to an EAEU certification body (e.g., Russian GOST-R Certification Centre, Shanghai Jinghe Industrial Equipment Testing Co., Ltd.), including the application form, documents, and samples (if testing is required).
Review and testing:
CoC: Laboratory testing + factory audit (inspection of production equipment and welding processes) are required.
DoC: Only document review is required; self-inspection or laboratory testing by a third party is acceptable.
Certificate Issuance: The EAC certificate is issued upon approval, and the EAC mark and QR code (traceable to the certification body) must be affixed to the product.
5. Notes
Manufacturers from non-EAEU member states must designate a local representative (e.g., a Russian or Kazakhstani company) to handle certification applications and subsequent oversight.
The certificate must be registered on the EAEU official platform to ensure traceability.
If the equipment includes an automated control system, it must additionally comply with the requirements of **TR CU 020/2011 ‘Electromagnetic Compatibility’**.
Certification body: Shanghai Jinghe Industrial Equipment Testing Co., Ltd. specialises in product certification and testing for Russia and EAEU countries and is the Chinese representative office of the Russian Testing and Certification Group.
